Plans for a new railway station at Surrey Canal Road are under threat. Despite the Government putting aside £7 million to build the station, and despite the area being
an important target for new development and regeneration, transport chiefs are saying the case for the station is not clear.
This is despite promises by those same transport chiefs over many years that the new railway line being built for this area would have a new station.
This could mean that no station on Phase 2 of the East London Line extension will be built in Lewisham at all.
We think this is wrong and want your help to campaign for the station.
This website contains all of the information you will need to know about our campaign and how you can help tell transport chiefs they are wrong to consider leaving this area out of their new railway line.
The campaign is being led by Joan Ruddock MP, Cllr Heidi Alexander and Val Shawcross London Assembly Member and we already have a huge amount of support at a local, regional and national level. But we need your support too.
You can join our campaign group here and we promise to keep you updated
on what we have been doing and who we have been talking to.
